On Sunday 17 September, the Gold Coast will host its first Girls Who Glow Workshop, an all-day event educating teenage girls about the struggles of adolescence and encouraging them to to have fun, be vibrant and feel fabulous in their own skin.
Popular Network Ten Presenter Liv Phyland and former Saturday Disney host, Teigan Nash have partnered with Jules Sebastian from The Sebastian Foundation to offer a one day workshop for teenage girls.
It will focus on issues affecting teenage girls, such as nutrition, exercise, social media, body image, relationships and mental health.
Alongside Liv, Teigan and Jules is an impressive lineup of guest speakers including fitness guru Eliza Landgren, Actress Cleo Massey, Australian surfer Brittani Nichol, Paralympic swimmer Monique Murphy, Actor Lincoln Lewis, Health and fitness ambassador Kieron Douglas, inspirational speaker Emma Carey and Psychologist Dr Hayley Watson, bringing a range of different backgrounds and experiences to share with these teens.
Jules Sebastian spoke of her excitement for The Sebastian Foundation to have partnered with Girls Who Glow, adding a section on healthy relationships to the agenda.
“I met with Liv and Teigs at an event and was so inspired in hearing what the girls do. It actually fitted very neatly into something the Foundation was looking to support,” she said.
“The Foundation does so much work in the space of families pulled apart by domestic violence and this seemed like an amazing way to connect with young women affected by this.
“To that end, we introduced a section on healthy relationships - what is and isn't OK in your relationships with your friends, family, girlfriends and boyfriends.”
The aim of the workshop is to give Gold Coast teens the tools to tackle the issues they may face now and into the future by promoting a balanced, fun, active lifestyle through interactive and fun sessions.
The Girls Who Glow Workshop is offering a unique insight into experiences and knowledge in a variety of topics and will be a jam-packed day with the opportunity for young girls to learn more about themselves and find that glowing new zest for life.
Tickets are $99 inclusive of the all-day workshop activities, a star studded lineup of guest speakers, catered lunch and take-home goodie bag.
The full day event runs from 10am - 4pm Sunday 17 September at The Studio Upstairs, Level 2, 9 Connor St, Burleigh Heads.
Follow their tour down the east coast with workshops in Melbourne on the 25 September and Sydney on the 29 September.
