A Queensland entrepreneur has created an app to mediate potentially heated communication between divorced and separated couples.
Known as Divvito, creator Wendy Oxenham was inspired to build the app after experiencing the highs and lows of the divorce process herself.
"Emotions do run over after separation," she told Seven News.
"And we want to make sure we can make parents keep their emotions in check."
Text recognition technology within the app diffuses snarky or inflammatory language by urging users to edit the messages before they send them over.
"If we can keep communication positive, we can ensure that parenting can be positive as well," Ms Oxenham said.
